Over the years a number of
legal principles have developed to protect the purchasers and users of products sold to
consumers. Most commonly these are based on ideas of negligence in design or manufacture,
breach of actual or implied warranties regarding the product, or proof that the product
was defective or not reasonably safe for its intended use. Many times these cases will
also involve regulatory or administrative guidelines, and industry standards similar to
the "standards of care" that are the focus of professional liability issues. Our
lawyers have handled many of these cases regarding a variety of products, representing
both consumers and manufacturers. We have lectured at numerous seminars regarding these
issues.
